HERD BULL

Alpha Future Direction 107 is an outstanding example of the successful genetic combination of C A Future Direction 5321 and B/R New Design 036.  His BW ratio of 99 at 75 Lb is followed by a WW ratio of 108 at 823 Lb and a 365 day ratio of 118 at 1396 Lb.  He offers a long bodied powerful phenotype with a Beef Value high in the top 1% of Angus Sires at +$55.62.  (click here for Registration Certificate)   We expect his calves to be very competitive with the best of the AI sired calves.

REFERENCE SIRE

Alpha New Frontier 126.  Our most recently used reference sire (click here for Registration Certificate) was sired by B/R New Frontier 095 on Alpha Miss Eisa 126 who traces back to Alpha Cruiser 310.  Miss Eisa 126 is another beautiful cow who consistently produces exceptionally attractive and high performing calves.

FORMER HERD BULL

Alpha Cruiser 310 was sired  by QAS Traveler 23-4 and Stone Gate Pastel, a truly outstanding pathfinder daughter of Shoshone Viking GD 60. Pastel has weaned eleven calves with an average weaning ratio of 111, her first calf at 118,  and she is the dam of Stone Gate Potter, a long time sire in the Wehrmann herd.  Cruiser completed OBI Test 034 with a ribeye measurement of 18.97 sq. in., the largest of 148 bulls tested. His 2001 EPDs were:

Although Cruise's yearling EPD is not as high as some popular sires, inspection of his carcass EPDs shows that he more than makes up the difference; e.g., he adds 18 pounds to carcass weight (top 15% of the breed) and one percent to Retail Product (Top 1% of the breed).  We have measured Cruise against many top sires and on average his calves are notable for straight and wide backs and carry more muscle in the rump.  Feet and legs are excellent and daughters are very feminine.

Cows produced by both Cruise and Pastel are straight backed and thick, have sound feet and legs, and show exceptional eye appeal. They are excellent mothers and easy keepers. Cruiser’s bulls have become very popular with cattlemen in this area and reflect the excellent carcass characteristics shown in the above table. They are good breeders and easy keepers.  Click button at top for photos of Cruise and his daughters.

Semen is $10 per straw and registration certificates are $15.
